In our second part of the Pharmacogenomics Pharmacy Podcast Series – we talk with Dr. Phillip Empey and Dr. James Coons with Pitt School of Pharmacy and UPMC – out of Pittsburgh PA. 

Empey and Coons explain the concept of pharmacogenomics and describe advances in scientific knowledge and technology, which have led to innovations in personalized medicine. 

We talk about the implications of pharmacogenomics data in guiding treatment decisions for patients and how pharmacists can lead these initiatives of proactively leveraging DNA Testing to better manage patient medication regimens.
